Meditation is the practice of quieting ourselves so we may cultivate greater calm, self-awareness, focus, and well-being. Like karate, meditation is a lifelong journey. There is no finish line, only the opportunity to return, day after day, to a moment of stillness.

For this reason, meditation has always been an important part of training at Seichou Karate. We begin and end each class with a brief period of quiet reflection, helping students develop the habit of centering themselves amid the demands of daily life.

Our dedicated Meditation Class offers students, family members, and friends an opportunity to explore this practice more deeply in a welcoming and supportive environment. No prior experience is necessary. Simply come as you are, sit comfortably, and learn to cultivate stillness one breath at a time.

Many people find that regular meditation helps them reduce stress, improve concentration, develop emotional balance, and approach life's challenges with greater clarity and composure.

Current Seichou Karate students attend free of charge.
Guests and non-students: per class.

Seichou Sprouts is Seichou Karate’s foundational program for children ages 4 and 5. Each 40-minute class includes a full-body, yoga-based warm-up, strength-building exercises, coordination drills, and instruction in basic karate hand and foot techniques.  However, our youngest students don’t merely learn to kick and punch. Rather, they begin their journey into authentic Japanese culture. In the Seichou Sprouts program, we integrate traditional karate training with age-appropriate Japanese language learning. Children are introduced to Japanese naturally through movement, repetition, and tradition.  Through activities such as bowing, counting in Japanese, responding to simple commands, and using simple phrases, students begin to acquire vocabulary and basic language patterns in a fun, high-energy environment. This unique combination of martial arts training and language exposure develops focus, self-control, confidence, and emotional resilience, and enhances coordination and cognitive engagement. These skills provide a powerful foundation for success in elementary school and beyond. Best of all, your child will have a ton of fun in this action-packed class.  Enrollment is limited. Walk-ins are not permitted. Please reserve a spot for your child at least one day in advance.
